Down By The Shore

Madeline Fendrick - vocals

Brian Peck - guitar, vocals

Down by the shore where there's a Great Lake to see

Deep in the woods wehre there's music up in the trees

Down on my knees where there's red clay to feel

That's where my eye sees something much greater than me

And that's when I start a-thinkin' that I should give to the greater need

Down on Main Street as I look into the eye of a beggar

Deep in a garden as I listen to the word of an elder

Down on my knees as I tickle the children's feet

That's where my eye sees something much greater than me

And that's when  I start a-thinkin' what should I give to the greater need

But a sign at times is hard to find when a hardship or two start a-creepin'

And if I had just one prayer to God this is what I'd share

From sunrise to sunset, through steep hills and flat lands

Keep the garden of my heart showered with those beautiful drops of rain

That keep me reaching for that greater need

Down on the grass when I'm much older than I am now

Deep in a peace as the sky above grows dimmer

Down where I lay reflecting 'bout when I was younger

I hope that I will see something much greater than me

And I hope that I can smile knowing that I gave to the greater need
