My name is Johnny Green, I was brave at 15

When I dove fifty feet into Lake Erie

No others would dare to go so far below

To stay under so long and to do so alone

That deep dark lake, I remember it well

But there's something to you I want to tell

In just one summer, memories a many

I surfaced and revealed, but not for the glory

Tons and tons of iron and lead

And cannons and swords from wrecks of old wars

I went down, down, down

Down into Lake Erie

To breathe

Whenever a treasure fell overboard

I was there in a heartbeat and down I soared

More than one gloomy shadow has lead me to gold

But oh, so many more has lead me further below

So much brought to daylight, but not for the glory
